Ladies with headscarves is based the stories of two women, Jan Ruff O’herne and Bae Bong Ki who were both victims of sexual slavery during War II. 
This project is about two women writing letters to each other, sharing their lives as comfort women in Indonesia and Okinawa during World War II.

For this project I visited Central of Java in Indonesia, Okinawa and Tokashiki Island in Japan where these women were forced into servitude as ‘Troostmeisje’
